Meeting Our Students’ Needs

We're tackling challenges like food and housing insecurity together.

Since the launch of Pack Essentials in 2017, NC State has committed to building out resources to support students in need. Overcoming challenges to success doesn’t stop with enrollment; we must ensure our students can thrive once they arrive on campus.

Our donors have stepped forward to be dedicated partners in reducing food and housing insecurity, as well addressing other financial barriers to success.

I always say one student is too many; thousands is unacceptable — because that is really the approach I think we need.

With meal plan scholarships, housing scholarships, the Student Emergency Fund, the International Student Support Fund, the Libraries Student Resource Fund and more, there are so many ways donors are making an immediate and lasting difference for students.

Expanding Access with the Libraries

We recently spoke to David Tully, librarian for student success and affordability, about the barriers some students face, the ways support from the Libraries helps students stay enrolled at NC State and the role of philanthropy in empowering students to succeed.
