Parent and Family Giving
Everyone needs a champion.
One of the reasons NC State offers such a robust educational experience, from hands-on learning to impactful extracurricular resources, is because of our champions: the generous alumni, friends, faculty, staff and families.
Each year, members of the Wolfpack give back to our university in order to give forward to students like yours. That’s the power of the Pack in action.

Why Give
NC State is fortunate to benefit from funding from the state of North Carolina. Donor support lets us build on that funding and do even more. And that “more” often includes core student experiences: study abroad, service learning, leadership opportunities, community centers, speaker series, research and other hands-on opportunities that bring students together, help each one find their place in the Pack and prepare them for meaningful careers.
Where to Give
Every gift makes a difference, no matter which college, unit or area of NC State you support. If you want to make the most immediate impact for students in need, you can direct a gift to:
- The University’s Greatest Needs Fund, which gives Chancellor Kevin Howell the flexibility to respond to emerging challenges and opportunities as they arise.
- The Student Emergency Fund, which provides immediate assistance in the form of microgrants to students facing unexpected financial challenges.
- The Pack Essentials Fund, which directly combats food, housing and financial insecurity on campus by supporting and expanding on the efforts of Feed the Pack Food Pantry and the Student Emergency Fund.
- The Libraries Student Success Resources Fund, which allows students experiencing financial insecurity to use the Libraries’ laptops, chargers, cameras, textbooks and other resources, reducing barriers to their success.
- The Counseling and Prevention Services Enhancement Fund, which increases counseling access for students, boosts professional development for staff and provides additional resources for prevention education.
- The Extraordinary Opportunity Scholarship Initiative, which provides need-based scholarships with a focus on first-generation college students and those from North Carolina’s most underresourced counties.
