John M. Nunnally

John Nunnally received his BA in Political Science from NC State in 1988 and JD from Campbell Law School in 1992. A partner at the law firm of Ragsdale Liggett, PLLC, in Raleigh, he is a senior litigator with more than 30 years of experience focused on civil litigation and insurance defense.
Nunnally maintains a strong allegiance to NC State where his father was a full-time professor at the College of Civil Engineering. His wife Alicia Benson Nunnally, sister Janine, and son are all NC State graduates. His son Alex followed in his parents’ footsteps majoring in political science and was a member of the recently crowned ACC champion basketball team. Nunnally is a lifetime member of the Alumni Association, Wolfpack Club, and a charter member of the Red Wolf Society. Nunnally and his wife established the John H. Gilbert Scholarship Scholarship Fund in appreciation of Dr. Gilbert and to honor the fact that they met in his class.
Nunnally also serves on Campbell Law School’s Board of Visitors and has been on the Board of Directors and a past president of the Kiwanis Club of Raleigh where he earned the Walter Zeller, C.A. Dillon, Jr and Carl B. Hyatt Fellowship awards as a member since 2000. He is a member of several prominent national and international legal organizations and is consistently honored with state legal awards by peer review.
