Bio

David Thompson received his B.S. in mechanical engineering in 1984. He is a partner and founder of Thompson Wealth Management & Partners. Thompson is a member of the Friends of the ARTS NC State and previously served as chair. He is a lifetime member of the NC State Alumni Association, as well as a member of the Stanhope Pullen Society and the W.C. Riddick Society. He has been a member of the Wolfpack Club since 1984. As a student, Thompson was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha. In 2017, he created the David S. Thompson Family Endowment for Student Success in support of programs within the Division of Academic and Student Affairs. In 2019, Thompson created the Lewis & Kathleen Thompson Engineering EOI scholarship. Thompson and his immediate family (including five NC State graduates) all live in NC: spouse Kimberly (1988); daughter Chandler (2011) and her husband Joe (2012) and their daughter Reynolds; son Reeves (2014) and his wife Caitlin and their daughter Tally; and stepdaughter Caroline and her husband Isaac and their son Owen.
