A Message to Our Endowment Donors From Chancellor Kevin Howell
Thank you for contributing to NC State’s long-term success through your support of our endowment. Your generosity and dedication are strengthening the Wolfpack and showing the world what makes it so very special.
As I begin my time as chancellor, I can already see the impact that you and your fellow donors have on our university through this invaluable funding. The next chapter in NC State’s history promises to be another extraordinary one, and the value of our endowment backs that up.
The endowment stands at a combined $2.54 billion as of June 30, 2025, up from an already impressive $2.22 billion at the end of the 2023-24 fiscal year. This secure resource reached new heights as we once again, for the sixth year in a row, welcomed our largest incoming class. We are thrilled more than 7,500 new students, including over 5,900 first-year students and more than 1,650 transfer students, joined the university this fall, and we are eager to see what they will achieve during their time on campus.
NC State’s culture of philanthropy enables us to open doors and create opportunities for our students that might not be possible otherwise. We can provide them with scholarships and fellowships, as well as with enriching programmatic support that translates their classroom knowledge into real-world action. We produce thousands of new alumni each year who have taken part in experiential-learning opportunities, which give them a confident “think and do” mindset that employers are seeking for the modern workforce.
Our world-class faculty train these rising servant-leaders while also conducting groundbreaking research that benefits people all across North Carolina, the United States and the globe. Many of them are distinguished professors, with private support enabling us to recruit and retain even more of these talented and hardworking educators.
