A Message from Brian Sischo, Vice Chancellor for University Advancement
It’s been nearly 15 years since Chancellor Randy Woodson prioritized growing the university’s endowment as a key objective of NC State’s first strategic plan under his leadership. Since then, our endowment has more than quadrupled through dedicated philanthropy and top-quartile investment performance.
With our endowment’s combined market value of $2.22 billion as of June 30, 2024, NC State stands in prime position to confidently and consistently respond to the needs of our students, faculty, staff, campus, community and world.
Today, thanks to you, an NC State education has never looked more attractive to the prospective student. This year, for the fifth-straight year, we welcomed our largest incoming class in history, bringing our student body to more than 38,000. As these students earn their degrees — supported by scholarships and programmatic endowments — they emerge from campus ready to transform their knowledge, skills and experience into big ideas and actionable results.
Of course NC State wouldn’t be where it is today without our award-winning faculty. Distinguished professorships and endowed awards pave the way for outstanding faculty members to choose NC State and stay at NC State. And the results tell the story. This past year we were recognized as one of the nation’s top universities in research output in science fields and one of only five public universities to be named a Fulbright Top-Producing Institution.
Pushing the envelope has always been in our DNA. With your partnership, we have the resources to never stop thinking and doing.
