Celebrate the Belltower

Built to honor NC State alumni who died while serving in World War I, the Memorial Belltower has become a symbol of inspiration and a centerpiece for the Wolfpack community. We light it red to celebrate big wins. We place our class rings inside its Shrine Room to spend the night. We pose in front of it for graduation, weddings and other milestones.

A century after construction began, the Belltower has finally been completed with real bells thanks to a gift from the Henry family.

Engineering excellence. 🤩🐺🐾

Today we formally dedicated Fitts-Woolard Hall, a world-class academic and research building. Home to @ncstateccee and @ncstateise, Fitts-Woolard Hall is a major step toward the vision of bringing all of @ncstateengr onto NC State’s Centennial Campus.

“In the past 10 years, engineering undergraduate enrollment has grown by 20%, and we have plans to continue to grow that because the workforce of the state demands that growth,” Chancellor Woodson said at today’s dedication event.

Fitts-Woolard Hall was made possible thanks to support from the state of North Carolina, hundreds of @ncstatealumni, and a $25M gift from alumni Edward P. Fitts, Jr. and Edgar S. Woolard, Jr.

Ed Fitts spoke to the meaning and purpose behind his investment in NC State: “You [the students] are our future and our legacy. As a Wolfpack family, it is our duty, all of us, to help forge the way and eliminate barriers to your success, and this building is a major milestone in that regard.”
