W. Trent Ragland III, Chair
Trent Ragland received his B.A. in business management from NC State in 1980. He is the owner and president of Ragland Properties, Inc., a Raleigh-based real estate development company. Ragland currently serves NC State on the State Club Board of Directors (founding member) and the Executive Committee of Friends of the Library; he formerly served on the NC State Investment Fund Members Board and the Achieve Campaign Steering Committee for the Libraries. Ragland is a lifetime member of the Alumni Association and a member of the Wolfpack Club and the C. W. Dabney Society. He is currently a board member of the North Carolina Community Foundation and the Wake Boys and Girls Club, and he is the former chairman of the Board of Trustees of Saint Mary’s School. He and his wife, Wes, have two children.
Charles E. Stallings, Vice Chair
Charlie Stallings received his B.A. in business management from NC State in 1977. He is a senior vice president with BB&T Capital Markets, Institutional Fixed Income Group. Stallings is a member of the Wolfpack Club, the R.S. Pullen and the W.C. Riddick Societies and a lifetime member of the Alumni Association. He is a former member of the NC State Investment Fund Board of Directors and past president of the NC State Club of Richmond. While president, he spearheaded the campaign for NC State license plates in Virginia. Stallings has established endowments at the Poole College of Management to provide scholarship support to undergraduate students. He is co-founder and past president of Greater Richmond Stop Child Abuse Now (SCAN). He currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Richmond Ballet, the state ballet of Virginia. He and his wife, Jeanne, have four children.
Brian Sischo, President
Brian C. Sischo, a 23-year veteran of higher education fundraising, has been named the new vice chancellor for university advancement and president of the NC State University Foundation. Sischo comes to NC State from Syracuse University where he has served as vice president for development since 2009. Prior to his current role, Sischo worked his way up the development ladder at Syracuse, serving as assistant vice president and then associate vice president and campaign director.
Sischo has an impressive track record of success in higher education advancement. He led more than 100 central- and unit-based fundraising staff during his tenure at Syracuse. He also spearheaded the planning, implementation and successful conclusion – in December 2012 – of the university’s $1 billion comprehensive fundraising campaign. Among many notable accomplishments under his leadership, private annual gift support to the university more than doubled during the campaign.
Before joining Syracuse in 2001, Sischo worked at his alma mater – Clarkson University – for more than 10 years, serving as director of corporate relations, director of major gifts and director of development, and leading the completion of a successful capital campaign.
Sischo earned a B. A. degree in finance and a master’s degree in management systems from Clarkson. He and his wife, Kathy, have a college-age daughter and a son who is a junior in high school.
Mary Peloquin-Dodd, Treasurer
Mary Peloquin-Dodd is Associate Vice Chancellor for Finance and University Treasurer at North Carolina State University. She was appointed to the position in May 2012. Her responsibilities include oversight and management of Foundations Accounting and Investments; Debt Management; Real Estate; University Cashiers Office; and Materials Management and Purchasing.
Before her appointment at NC State, Mary was a Managing Director and Senior Analytical Leader for US Higher Education and Not-for-Profit Corporate Ratings at Standard & Poor’s. Mary holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree from UNC-Chapel Hill.
