Helping to Feed the Pack

A College of Sciences senior is making a difference for members of the Wolfpack community through her work with NC State's campus food pantry, Feed the Pack. Rose Krebs, who is studying microbiology, is Feed the Pack's executive director. Since the student-run pantry opened in 2012, it has distributed more than 193,000 pounds of food. The pantry is serving more people than ever, as needs continue to increase during the COVID-19 pandemic.

NC State Celebrates Outstanding Faculty

Distinguished Professors Rodolphe Barrangou, Carol Hall and Walt Wolfram were among 25 faculty members recognized in the ninth annual Celebration of Faculty Excellence awards. Normally held each spring to recognize outstanding faculty who have received prestigious state, national and international awards, accolades or other distinctions during the previous year, the event was held virtually this fall due to COVID-19.

Opening Doors to Success

The MAC Fellowship Program has enabled many students in the Poole College of Management to earn their Master of Accounting degree from the Jenkins Graduate School. Some students qualify for academic fellowships; others, firm-sponsored fellowships. However they get in, the MAC Fellowship Program helps these students think and do the extraordinary in ways they may not have been able to otherwise. Here are some of the program's latest success stories.

Park Launches PURA to Support Under-Resourced Applicants

Current Park Scholars have created a community that seeks to aid applicants during the admissions process. Park Under-Resourced Assistance (PURA) provides a direct outlet of feedback and support for under-resourced applicants to NC State and the Park Scholarships programs. The deadline to apply for assistance for this admission cycle is Oct. 21.

Finally, a Home: Industrial Design Program to Get Dedicated Space

Over the past 40 years, NC State's industrial design program has become one of the nation's best. Finally, the program will be moving to its own bright space perfect for collaboration and creativity. With the College of Engineering leaving the building at 111 Lampe Drive as part of its shift into the new Fitts-Woolard Hall on Centennial Campus, the College of Design will be renovating the 15,000-square-foot first floor of that building for industrial design's use. There will be unique naming and other giving opportunities to support the two-phase effort.

Belk Center Executive Director Audrey Jaeger Receives W. Dallas Herring Professorship in Community College Education

Audrey Jaeger, Ph.D., Alumni Distinguished Graduate Professor in the NC State College of Education and executive director of the Belk Center for Community College Leadership and Research, has been awarded the W. Dallas Herring Professorship in Community College Education. Her work through the Belk Center focuses on understanding how community college presidents make decisions related to completion and transfer, equity, labor market outcomes and teaching and learning to impact student success.
