Michael Habersetzer ’13

Michael Habersetzer is a mechanical engineering major, pursing a career as a Disney Imagineer.  Walt Disney Imagineers create from concept through construction all Disney theme parks, resorts, attractions, cruise ships, real estate developments, and regional entertainment venues worldwide. The name Imagineer combines imagination with engineering.

Last fall, Michael’s father unexpectedly was laid off from his company and Michael was left with the pressure and uncertainty of how to continue his NC State education and pursue his dream career.  He was thrilled and grateful to learn that he was awarded the NC State Student Aid Fund Award by the Financial Aid Office.

As a recipient, Michael is grateful that NC State’s financial aid program takes some pressure off his family. “It has allowed me to focus less on the monetary stresses of paying for my education,” he says, “and focus more on academics, being a good student and making the most of all the opportunities NC State has to offer.”
